SUpporting the genesis house


The Genesis House exists today because of the support we receive from the communities we serve. While we receive some funding from government agencies, those contracts cover about half of our annual operating costs. To make up the difference between contract income and the full cost of services we do several fundraising drives per year and we run our Community Jobs Project all year.

Community Job Projects

Do you need help on a project? Don't have time to do it yourself? We provide such inexpensive services as: Yardwork, Hauling, Moving (truck not provided), Painting, House Cleaning, or just general manpower.  Please give us a call: Contact our Job Coodinator on our Job Line @ 707-642-8634. 

The Community Jobs Project is a way we fund raise by doing odd jobs in the Vallejo-Benicia area. Most of the jobs we take on involve manual labor. Clients in treatment learn valuable job skills, like; being punctual, following instructions, customer relations and taking pride in a job well done, as well as good work ethics. The Jobs Project also allows our clients an opportunity to develop positive working relationships and support for making each project a team effort. The two annual ticket sales campaigns and the Community Jobs Project are supervised by paid staff.

Bi-Annual Ticket Sales Fundraiser

Summer Drawing: March thru July (Postponed due to COVID-19)
From March to July we solicit donations and in turn give people tickets to our 
Summer Open House Raffle. In addition, from September to December we accept donations and donors receive tickets to our Drug Abuse Seminar and Raffle held just before Christmas. Since clients volunteer to participate in this effort, donors have an opportunity to talk to real people who know about the challenges of getting sober and staying sober. Ninety-five percent of the funds raised during these two campaigns goes toward direct client care.

Annual Spaghetti Feed & Silent Auction

Every February we hold a Spaghetti Feed and Silent Auction as a fundraiser. Businesses from near and far make donations of merchandise, services and money. This event is always well attended and features local live music, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle

Sunday February 16th, 2020
@ Dan Foley Cultural Center - 1499 N. Camino Alto Vallejo, CA
​ 4:00-8:00 PM (Dinner is served 4:30-6:00 PM)
Tickets: $15 in advance; $17 after 2/8/17

The evening starts out with a delicious Spaghetti Dinner of Spaghetti w/meatballs or Vegetarian Spaghetti complete with tossed salad and garlic bread. 
Testimonies of Recovery successes @ 6:00 PM followed by our Raffles of tons of great raffle prizes as well as a 50/50 raffle drawing at the end of the event.
Our Dessert Auction is open for bidding until 6:15 PM; Dessert auction winners will be called at 6:30 PM.
The Silent Auction is open for bidding until 7:00 PM; winning numbers will be called around 7:15 PM.
This is a fun evening! Bring a group of friends and reserve a table. This event is especially fun for those shopping for great deals on fabulous stuff. 
All proceeds help assists us with our non funded scholarship beds, for folks who really want treatment and do not have the means to pay for it.

Annual Christmas Tree Lot

Need a Christmas tree? We run an annual Christmas Tree Lot with the Benicia Historical Museum at the Camel Barn, 2060 Camel Rd, Benicia, CA 94510
We are Open the Day after Thanksgiving through December 24th or until all trees are sold and feature fresh cut trees from the Salem, Oregon area
